Black or Red? Drinking Game

Black or Red is a simple card game with a simple premise. All you need is a deck of cards, a couple of friends and a ready supply of beverage. To begin play someone has to volunteer their services as a dealer. The other people involved in the game then be

The dealer holds the deck face down and asks the first player, or the first "guesser", to pick the color of the card he or she is about to turn over. Obviously since there are only black or red cards in the deck then the "guesser" has a 50/50 chance of choosing correctly. In other words, green is not an appropriate response. If the "guesser" is correct in their selection then there is no penalty and the player chooses again, for they must correctly predict the color of three successive cards before passing their turn to the next player. If the "guesser" is incorrect they then must take sips of their beverage equaling the number of cards they had chosen correctly up to that point plus one for the mistake. For example, if a player had correctly guessed twice but failed on their third attempt the penalty would be equal to 3 drinks. Once an incorrect guess has been made all cards are removed from the table and placed in a separate pile. The "guesser" now has a clean slate and his or her quest to correctly predict the color of three cards in a row begins anew. Simple, aint it? Once a player has correctly guessed the color of three successive cards they have two options. First, they may pass their turn, and with it the three successful cards, to the next player. In other words, if the next player were to be incorrect in their first guess the total penalty would be equal to four. A second option would be to continue guessing, with correct predictions accumulating cards to be passed on to the next player at any point. However, an incorrect prediction will send the player back to square one and he or she will again have to try to guess three cards in a row before passing. In addition, this player will have to drink a sum of all the accurate predictions plus one for the failed attempt. Once all cards have been used the dealer can be changed or the current dealer can continue on using the cards previously swept from the table.
